Nissan is going to unveil their long-awaited electric crossover based at the Ariya Concept on July 15 in Yokohama.
Nissan confirmed this on Monday at the global automaker’s annual shareholders’ meeting.
Nissan USA also confirmed this official production car debut without giving out the specific launch time.
The production car might arrive in the US during the second half of 2021. Nissan also confirmed that the production car,Ariya will have specs that is very close to what they exhibited when Ariya was but a Concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show and at the CES in Las Vegas early this year. The concept of Ariya was 300-mile battery range, and a 0-60 mph in just a time of under 5.0 seconds.
Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior VP for global design, said that Ariya would be “faster or as fast as a Z car.”
In a presentation in May, Nissan added that it will introduce more than eight “pure EVs” by 2023 with an “electrification ratio” of 60% for Japan, 23% for China, and 50% for Europe by the year 2023.
